Helmdange – Converting a farm into housing

Project:

Our current endeavor involves revitalizing an old farmhouse, giving it a new lease on life. The farmhouse possesses protected scale and facades, making it a unique challenge to modernize the living spaces with today’s technological advancements while preserving its historical character and charm.

Working in collaboration with our esteemed partners, including an architect, engineer, and energy consultant, we are meticulously examining the layout and technical aspects of the future residences.

Location:

The chosen location for this project is Helmdange, an ideal setting due to its proximity to Luxembourg City (merely 8 km away) and convenient access to various amenities and public transportation. Nestled on Rue de Helmdange, in the heart of Helmdange, within the Lorentzweiler commune, the former farmhouse is situated conveniently between Luxembourg City and Mersch.

Surroundings:

The Lorentzweiler area boasts various amenities, including crèches, a daycare house, and a primary school, providing convenience for families and young residents.

In terms of shopping, there are multiple options available, with a selection of supermarkets and small shops in close proximity.

Mobility:

Helmdange offers excellent transportation options, making it easily accessible. The area is well-connected with several regular bus routes and is conveniently close to the Lorentzweiler railway station, facilitating smooth commuting.

For those who prefer traveling by car, the Autoroute du Nord is very close by, granting quick access to the Kirchberg plateau and Findel airport, both reachable within minutes.
